We are selected as a
participant for the national project, or “Development of low-carbon fuel
technology utilizing carbon dioxide emitted from cement industry in the field
of CCU (carbon capture and resource conversion technology)’ hosted by the
Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy.
CCU
is an important technology necessary to realize carbon neutrality by 2050, which
means the technology that not only captures carbon dioxide but also recycles it
as a useful resource and converts it into a material with high added value.
This
project is the first case of applying CCU technology to the cement process in
Korea with a total investment of 39 billion won by 2025.
In
this business, we plan to use the captured CO2 to localize synthesis gas
reforming and methanol conversion production facilities.
Methanol
is regarded as next-generation clean fuel and it is a resource that can be
converted into dimethyl ether (DME), etc.
By
advancing into the carbon resource conversion business to produce high
value-added products using the carbon dioxide captured, we are pursuing growth
as a specialized Energy & Eco company.
